Short Bio

I am 37 years old. I live in Redwood City, CA.   I have been a resident of California for over 15 years. I am originally from Mexico. I was born in a City named Apatzingan in the state of Michoacán. When I was a baby my parents moved to Guadalajara city in the state of Jalisco, and there, and I lived until I came to the United States. In Guadalajara, I completed most of my education. I graduated high school when I was 17 and then I went to engineering school. I lasted a couple years there, but eventually I learned that engineering was not my real vocation. I managed to have good grades however, I was not happy. By looking at my limited future work opportunities, and by talking to one my instructors, I came to the realization that it was time for me to move on and find other possibilities for my future. Since I had some family in the United States I decided to move to America and to learn the English language. I was sure that by learning English I would have a better future.

Once in the United States I realized that it was not going to be easy to succeed, I would have to work very hard and to overcome many barriers that stood in front of me. Therefore, I focused in the first step learning the language. A couple of months later I was able to communicate and move around by myself and work in this country. Working and going to school, soon enough I earned a GED  and I was able to attend college. Slowly but surely I graduated with honors from Foot Hill College with an Associate in Arts Degree with French Language as a major. At the end of 2005 I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix Online. Now I am working on my Master Degree in Education and Accreditations to become a Math, Spanish and Physical Education Secondary School Teacher still at the University of Phoenix Online. Even though I am taking some time off between classes I hope I can complete my academic work as soon as possible. During the process of my academic work I earned a few certificates in design by correspondence school. I learn to dance and became a professional American and International Styles Ballroom dance instructor.  I dance in many college productions and TV shows. With my students, I have won some National Championships, and I still compete and perform. I also earned several National Certifications as a Personal Trainer.

Currently I work as a personal dance and fitness instructor. After running my own business for more than four years from several Gyms and dance studios, I finally was able to open my own Private Dance and Fitness Facility in  may of 2009.  It has taken a lot of work to set it up and to run it smoothly however it has been great experience. My students love it and I love it even more...

I’m married to a beautiful woman whom I love very much. We have an eleven years old son Odin Eduardo, a three year old daughter Alexandria Stephania and a one year old girl Allison Gisselle who have made me the happiest father ever.

 I learned that everything is possible if want it enough to work for it. I just have to keep an open mind and learn from every person who touches my life. Everyone has something to teach me and maybe I have something to teach everyone knowing and working with people is the most valuable asset in my life.

I learned a phrase from my English teacher in high school that I always keep in mind and that I like to repeat to myself often, it keeps my energy up:

"Smile and be happy"
